Process
Review of my Design Process
During my product design and manufacture I used the "Waterfall model of Design Process" as a guide to achieving what was required in my design brief. This involved four phases: the preparation phase, research phase, solution generation phase and the evaluation phase.
- Preparation Phase
- Research Phase
- Solution Generation Phase
- Evaluation Phase
Summary of positive and negative features
Positive
Negative
- A clear design brief and constraints list helped make the design process easy to follow.
- All data collected was relevant to my design need and brief.
- Data collected was from a variety of credible sources.
- I was able to choose the most appropriate design from a range to adequately meet my design need.
- I was able to use industrial machinery to create a professionally finished product
- After testing I was able to create appropriate care labels to help the user launder and care for the products.
Negative
- Was extremely hard to find on-trend swimwear fashion data in books, the only sources I had available were the Seafolly Lookbooks.
- Online resources were mostly used because they were the most relevant and up-to-date.
