Testing the Prototype
Once I had completed the swimwear top and pants, I wanted to try them on myself to check the fit and support. The top fitted perfectly! All the modifications to the initial prototype top were included in the final design and it was very successful! To create the prefect fit, I had cut down the bra cups, reduced the length of the underwire casing, moved the boning closer to the side of the bust and reduced the length of the back straps. I felt very supported and I had full coverage of my bust which was great!
The pants were also modified from the original pattern to this final design which were a great fit! The lining was reduced in size to stop it popping out the sides of the crotch and the front leg holes were scooped out. I was very happy with the pants.
The dress I tried on a mannequin at home, and it looked great. The drape of the chiffon looked lovely and soft, as well as the roomy fit created a relaxed beachy look. The dress design followed the same shape as the swimwear top and also the same fabric colours which made it match and compliment as an outfit.
